The Baltimore Ravens already know what free agent wide receiver Tyreek Hill thinks of them and their 2-time NFL MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Despite having played and won a Super Bowl with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Hill has repeatedly singled Jackson out as the NFL’s best quarterback.
That’s one of the reasons why Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton called the Ravens the No. 1 “Top Landing Spot” for Hill after he was released by the Miami Dolphins.
“The Baltimore Ravens could go through offensive changes under a new coaching regime,” Moton wrote. “Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle will call plays for the first time in his coaching career. Moreover, Baltimore could lose wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and tight end Isaiah Likely in free agency. Rashod Bateman didn’t justify the three-year, $36.75 million extension he signed last offseason, hauling in just 19 out of 38 targets for 224 yards and two touchdowns for the 2025 term. The Ravens could be active on the receiver free-agent market, especially if they’re slow to sign Zay Flowers to an extension.”
Hill Coming Off Gruesome Injury in 2025
Hill has been arguably the NFL’s premiere elite wide receiver over the last decade and could very well wind up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame after his career is over.
The debate now is if he can even approach close to that level after suffering the first major injury of his career in 2025 when he dislocated his left knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, in a Week 4 win over the New York Jets.
Selected in the 5th round (No. 165 overall) of the 2016 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, Hill is a 6-time NFL All-Pro, 8-time Pro Bowler and was named to the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team. He was also one of the stars for the Chiefs when they won the Super Bowl following the 2019 season — their first championship in 50 years.
Through the first decade of his career, Hill has 13,621 all-purpose yards and 95 total touchdowns, including 11,363 receiving yards and 83 receiving touchdowns. He’s also the only player in NFL history to score a 50-plus yard touchdown 5 different ways — rushing, receiving, kickoff return, punt return and fumble return.
Risk-Reward Scenarios Aplenty With Hill
We all saw a team take a big chance on a controversial wide receiver coming off a serious injury only to see it pay off in a huge way with the New England Patriots this season, who signed Stefon Diggs to a 3-year, $63.5 million contract and he helped lead the Patriots to the Super Bowl.
Hill might garner those same type of numbers in free agency in terms of average annual salary — something between $15 million to $20 million — but could bring similar headaches.
Dating back even to before his time with the Dolphins, Hill has had legal issues, including pleading guilty to assaulting his pregnant girlfriend while playing for Oklahoma State in 2014, which led to his dismissal from the team.
In June 2023, Hill was investigated for the alleged assault of a marina employee in Florida but wasn’t punished after the 2 sides settled out of court.
In December 2023, Hill was successfully sued for paternity by 2 different women just one month after his marriage to Keeta Vaccaro, and amid reports Hill had fathered 10 children by 4 different women.
