After 21 seasons in the league, Paul said the San Antonio Spurs were the best team he played for during his career.
"It's so dope 'cause the Spurs gave me this last year, my best organization I played for," he said during TheTyLilShow livestream.
The 40–year–old point guard spent the final stretch of his career in San Antonio. Even in his last season, he showed his value as a floor general. Paul continued to run the offense, control the tempo, and deliver assists in pick-and-roll situations.
Before the NBA trade deadline, Paul was moved to the Toronto Raptors. Shortly after, he was waived. No team signed him for the remainder of the season, which marked the end of his legendary NBA run.
Paul walks away from the game as one of the top playmakers in basketball history. He earned 12 All-Star selections, 11 All-NBA honors, and was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
Across 1,370 regular–season games, Paul averaged 16.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 9.2 assists.
During his career, Paul played for the New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, and finally the Spurs.
