Liverpool and Manchester United have looked at Khephren Thuram, but the midfielder is now expected to pen a fresh contract with Juventus, leaving the Reds to look elsewhere.
Arne Slot’s midfield has been described as a ‘big problem’ by Wayne Rooney this season, and the addition of Thuram may have helped.
Curtis Jones has come under fire from certain sections of the fanbase, while Wataru Endo, who was hardly featuring anyway, is now injured.

It has left Slot with very few options in the centre of the pitch, an issue that will not be solved by signing Thuram.
Liverpool and Manchester United are expected to miss out on Juventus’ Khephren Thuram
According to a report from Graeme Bailey of TeamTalk, both Liverpool and Manchester United were looking at the Frenchman.
However, he is now expected to commit his long-term future to Juventus.
It’s added that barring any late twists on the contract front, Liverpool and Man Utd will now be forced to look elsewhere.

Thuram was called ‘extraordinary’ earlier this season by Giovanni Martusciello, and has so far made 83 appearances, scored seven and assisted 11 for the Turin-based outfit.
He could have been a useful option for the Reds, and potentially a long-term successor to Jones, but there are other options Liverpool might explore this summer.

Liverpool’s potential midfield transfer targets for summer window
After speculation around his future in the winter window, Sandro Tonali could be an option for Liverpool.
Interest in Adam Wharton has been played down, though the Crystal Palace ace could be on the move this summer.
Elsewhere, Fabrizio Romano said earlier this year that Reds target Kees Smit is a story for the next transfer window.
Meanwhile, Man City are expecting Liverpool to make a push for Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest.
