Patriots Predicted To Draft SEC Touchdown Leader For Drake Maye

The New England Patriots' offense was good enough to make it to the Super Bowl, but the team could use some more talent, especially if it decides to cut ties with Stefon Diggs.

Diggs' cap hit makes him a cut candidate despite a solid season. The Patriots would need to replace him, and NBC Sports Boston's Patriots insider Phil Perry predicted New England would draft KC Concepcion out of Texas A&M with the 31st pick in the NFL Draft.

"Explosiveness. Separation. Versatility. Those are three words that immediately come to mind when watching Concepcion," Perry wrote on Wednesday. "His quickness as a route-runner and burst with the ball in his hands are outstanding. Combine those traits with an innate feel for open spaces and a refusal to go down upon first contact, and you have a potential game-changer in Josh McDaniels' offense."

He is not the perfect prospect. He is a little undersized at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds. He also dropped 19 passes in three seasons. However, he managed to put up big numbers in the SEC last season. He had 919 receiving yards and was a Consensus All-American. His nine receiving touchdowns were tied for the SEC lead with the University of Tennessee's Chris Brazzell II.

In three collegiate seasons, he had 2,218 yards and 25 receiving touchdowns. He had 839 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns as a freshman at North Carolina State. He also has three career rushing touchdowns and two punt return touchdowns.

ESPN's Field Yates, Matt Miller and Jordan Reid all have him ranked as a top-five wide receiver in this draft class. Adding him to the Patriots offense would give Drake Maye a versatile weapon to work with.
