Iowa Running Backs Coach Omar Young Taking Job With Las Vegas Raiders

**IOWA CITY, Iowa--** The coaching carousel is truly a 12-month ride. That's the new world that we live in. On Wednesday, sources informed Matt Zenitz and HawkeyeInsider that Iowa running back coach Omar Young will depart Iowa after one season and has accepted the Running Backs coaching position with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Iowa's spring football season is scheduled to start in the next five weeks. It will be another key hire for the Hawkeyes, who just acquired FCS all-American LJ Phillips during the NCAA Transfer Portal season. The last three running back coaches for Iowa have all departed for NFL jobs.

Prior his arrival at Iowa, Young's resume includes spending the previous two seasons with the Chicago Bears, for whom he initially worked as a quality control coach as well as assistant quarterbacks and wide receivers coach. He was also the Bears' running backs coach for the final two months of the 2023 season.

More to come at HawkeyeInsider.
