Back in 2022, the Green Bay Packers had to rebuild and restock their wide receiver room. Davante Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders, and to help fill the void that he left, the Packers selected Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Samori Toure in that year’s NFL Draft.
Watson and Doubs immediately made an impact, becoming two of Green Bay’s most targeted and productive pass catchers. Toure was released by the Packers after two seasons, but the other wide receivers remained key contributors to the offense.
Now, Watson is set to play in 2026 on a one-year contract extension, and many believe he will get another one later this off-season. The expectation for Doubs, though, is that he will leave in free agency.

Doubs is coming off of the best season of his career. In 2025, he had 55 receptions for 724 yards and six touchdowns. He led Green Bay in both receptions and receiving yards, and tied for the team lead in touchdown receptions.
But the selections of Matthew Golden and Savion Williams in the 2025 NFL Draft have made the wide receiver room crowded, and even though Doubs is projected to make just $12 million a year, the Packers cannot afford to give him that kind of money due to their other roster needs.
And so, it is more than likely that he will go elsewhere in free agency, and ESPN believes he would be a perfect fit on the Raiders:
“The Raiders can add to their wide receivers room for new coach Klint Kubiak by signing Doubs. His ability to uncover and work the heavy traffic areas of the field would be great for anticipated top pick Fernando Mendoza. A reliable pass catcher, Doubs had 55 receptions for 724 yards with the Packers in 2025.”
The Raiders, of course, has a new head coach in Kint Kubiak, and will likely have a new quarterback next season as well. Doubs, despite struggles in his first three seasons, emerged as a rather sure-handed pass catcher in 2025 and would be a major asset for a Las Vegas team that needs to get an offensive identity.
As good of a fit Doubs would be for Las Vegas, they could be just as good of a fit for him as well. He would immediately slot in as their number two wide receiver, which would ensure that he continues to get plenty of targets and other opportunities.
