NBC could poach Unrivaled one-on-one idea for NBA All-Star Game

The 2026 NBA All-Star Game turned out to be a major success as the league looks to revitalize its marquee mid-season matchup, but the overall All-Star Weekend festivities are still severely lacking.

Meanwhile, the league is actually looking at the positive reviews from Unrivaled as many of the WNBA superstars competing have basketball fans raving about its new competition.

WNBA star Chelsea Gray took home the Unrivaled one-on-one title, however, the concept could be coming to the NBA All-Star Game soon.

After rejuvenating NBA All-Star Game with USA vs. World format, the league and NBC Sports are eyeing how they can improve All-Star Saturday next year.

Front Office Sports revealed Wednesday that commissioner Adam Silver and Co. are exploring the idea of a one-on-one or two-on-two competition during All-Star Weekend.

The potential add-on to the NBA’s marquee event would coincide with the Slam Dunk, Three-Point and Rising Stars competitions. Next year, Steph Curry shocked NBA fans by revealing that he and other top stars are slated to compete.

However, a one-on-one contest would draw massive numbers with elite players on the court. The idea of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, LeBron James and others playing could potentially give the NBA a lifeline with its plummeting All-Star product.
