The Seattle Seahawks were one of the best teams in the NFL during the regular season with a 14-3 record. When Seattle got to the playoffs, many people questioned if quarterback Sam Darnold was going to lead them to the Super Bowl or not. Darnold played well enough for the Seahawks in the playoffs to win Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots.

During the regular season, he completed 67.7% of his passes for 4,048 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. Darnold also rushed for 95 yards on 35 carries and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 2.7 yards per carry. He is 28 years old and it will be interesting to see what kind of year he is going to have next season.

The profootballfocus.com staff started its Top 101 players list for the 2025 NFL season. Darnold was ranked on that list, and he was listed as the 93rd best player. They said,
“Darnold got off to an excellent start to his season and his Seahawks career, earning a 93.5 PFF overall grade over the first nine weeks that put him first among all quarterbacks in the league. While his performance declined in the second half of the season, he returned to form in the postseason, committing no turnovers in Seattle’s three playoff games. Darnold ranked fourth among 32 qualifying quarterbacks in PFF passing grade on deep passes (95.5).”
This team had a loaded roster this past season. Darnold played well enough to get this team a Super Bowl title. It will be interesting to see how he will play during the 2026 NFL season when the team could potentially look a little different than it did during its Super Bowl winning season. He is no doubt a Top 10 quarterback in the league at the moment.
