Mohamed Salah continues to be linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, but the MLS could be a more appealing move for the Liverpool winger.
The 33-year-old signed a new contract at Anfield in 2025 amid what was a prolific season.
However, since his post-Leeds United interview in December, there have been question marks around the forward, who is under contract until 2027.
Is Mohamed Salah about to make his doubters look REALLY stupid?

The Saudi Pro League made Salah their top target going into the 2026 summer transfer window.
There has also been a report in France claiming the Liverpool winger’s agent has been contacted regarding a move to the Middle East.
Mohamed Salah could move to MLS over Saudi Pro League
However, speaking on The Athletic’s Walk On podcast this week, James Pearce has suggested the MLS could be a more appealing move to Salah.
On Saudi Pro League interest, Pearce said: “That interest has been there in Salah for a number of years. It was there in January if he had really wanted to try and get away from Liverpool, but he didn’t.

“Because up until now, he’s never shown any great interest in wanting to go and play there because anyone that’s seen Salah interview knows that he is incredibly driven and loves breaking records, loves competing at the highest level and he’s not ready to drop down to the standard of the Saudi Pro League.”
He continued: “Now, the question is, will there be more suitors come the summer? The MLS is another possible destination for him.
“It’s been suggested to me that that actually is more appealing in many ways than the Saudi Pro League.”

Mohamed Salah’s wage vs Lionel Messi
If he were to move to North America, it’s unlikely Salah would be on the same money he’s currently earning at Liverpool.
On the back of his last extension, the Egyptian takes home £400,000-a-week until the end of June 2027.
In comparison, even Lionel Messi does not earn close to that match now that he’s playing for Inter Miami.
Capology report that the Argentine has a base salary of $230,769-a-week, which is around £170,000-a-week.
