£174m transfer fee! Liverpool preparing an'offer so compelling that it is virtually impossible to refuse'

Liverpool are preparing a record contract offer to turn Michael Olise’s head to Anfield as they prepare for a future that doesn’t include Mohamed Salah.

Salah will have another year on his contract when this season ends but given his age and the fact that Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad is desperate to sign him, there’s a strong chance the Reds sell him.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move to sign 19-year-old Yan Diomande but despite his prodigious talent, replacing Premier League record Salah with a teenager might not be the most shrewd move.

Before his move to Galatasary, Leroy Sane was a fitting replacement but coupled with his move to Turkey and reported attitude problems, he isn’t the ideal heir either.

Olise, who has exploded since joining Bayern Munich, is arguably the best fit to replace Salah at Liverpool.

‘Liverpool all in for Olise’ as search for Mo Salah heir continues in earnest

Michael Olise has reportedly become Liverpool’s top choice to replace Mohamed Salah.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Bayern have no intention of parting ways with Olise – which is why Liverpool are doing two things; convincing him Anfield is the best place to grow and win and offering a contract so ‘compelling that it is virtually impossible to refuse.’

Liverpool ready to put ‘a record offer on the table to assuage Bayern Munich

With Bayern Munich desperate to keep Olise and the player under contract at the Allianz Arena until June 2029, Liverpool will only be able to complete this deal if they make a massive offer.

Fichajes make an incredible claim, suggesting that Liverpool are discussing a transfer fee for Olise in the region of ‘200 million euros’ – or £174m.

The report states: “The plan involves enticing the player and, if he accepts the idea of ??a change of scenery, having him exert pressure from within to facilitate the negotiation. The weight of his will could be decisive in a deal of this magnitude.

“Bayern Munich will not make his departure easy, but an offer of that magnitude would force the Bavarians to the negotiating table. In this context, the summer promises to be one of the most intense in recent years in the European transfer market.”

Is Olise worth £174million?

Absolutely not. There is no denying that the Frenchman is a fantastic player, and he would more than be worth a huge fee, but until he maintains the form he has found in Germany for several years, he cannot be deemed worth almost as much as Neymar in 2017.

PSG paid a world record fee of €222m (£193m), which remains the highest transfer fee in football history. He is worth over £100m, however…

Olise has been in prolific form for two years now, scoring 20 goals and assisting 23 last season. This season, he has 13 goals and 25 assists in all competitions.

However, in his last season in the Premier League, he managed just 10 goals and 6 assists.

Liverpool could really do with the 24-year-old’s talent, but even the new, free-spending Liverpool will not spend £174m on one player a year after spending £460m.
