Rashee Rice plays wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs. His ex-girlfriendfiled a civil lawsuit against him on February 16 in the Dallas County district court in Texas.
Dacoda Jones is the mother of Rice’s two children. The lawsuit says Rice grabbed, choked, strangled, pushed, threw, scratched, hit and headbutted her many times from December 2023 to July 2025.
It says he also threw things at her, punched walls, broke furniture and locked her out of the home at night. Many of the incidents happened while she was pregnant.

The couple lived together in homes in Victory Park in Texas and Lee’s Summit in Missouri. Jones says the actions caused bleeding, swelling, bruising and other pain and injury to her neck, face, mouth, arms, legs, chest and shoulder.
She says some injuries were severe and permanent. She asks for more than $1 million in damages.

Jonesposted on social media in January about years of abuse. She showed photos of injuries but did not name Rice. The NFL opened a review under its personal conduct policy after the post.
The review remains active. The Chiefs said at the time they knew of the claims and were in contact with the league. They had no further comment.
Rashee Rice and Dacoda Jones’ dating history
Dacoda Jones and Rashee Rice dated for several years and have two children. They broke up a few months before her January post. Jones later deleted the social media post.
Rice is 25 years old. He faced legal trouble in March 2024 after a high-speed crash in Dallas. He pleaded guilty to two felony charges in July 2025. He received 30 days in jail, five years of probation and paid more than 115,000 dollars in restitution.

The NFL suspended him for the first six games of the 2025 season. He returned to the field in October 2025.
No criminal charges have been filed in connection with the claims in the new lawsuit. A hearing in the civil case is set for May 4.
Rice has not made a public statement about the lawsuit. The Chiefs have not added any comment since January. Jones and Rice lived in the Kansas City area and in Texas during their time together. Rice has played for the Chiefs since he entered the NFL.
