Over the weekend, Houston Rockets’ star Kevin Durant faced serious allegations about using burner accounts on X. The two-time NBA champion revealed several years ago that he still had burners to engage in discussions with fans, but the recent “findings” made it look way worse than expected.

Durant’s alleged accounts criticized some of his former and current teammates, including Jabari Smith, Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets, as well as Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker, Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry and Dallas Mavericks’ Kyrie Irving (he played with Durant on the Brooklyn Nets).
As he returned to practice, Durant addressed the allegations. This time, however, he brushed them off, saying that he and his teammates have been a unit since the start of the season.
“I know you gotta ask these questions, but I’m not here to get into Twitter nonsense,” Durant told reporters following Houston’s practice.

“But I get you all have to (ask). My teammates know what it is; we’ve been locked in the whole season. We had a great practice today, looking forward to the road trip.”

The Rockets (33-20) currently sit fourth in the Western Conference standings. Durant averages 25.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists in his first campaign with the Texas team.

During the most recent episode of “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” the former ESPN analyst raised a question about whether the latest Durant allegations could ruin the team’s chemistry.
“I assume there’s probably some smoke with the fire on this one,” Simmons said. “If this is all true and he’s talking about guys he’s playing with right now, I don’t know if we’ve ever been in a situation like this. A social media scandal of revealed tweets/text of somebody disparaging people on his team that he then has to go play with.”

The Rockets might have a big issue in their hands. Durant, however, isn’t paying much attention to it.
