The Chicago Bears have officially been handed a reality check in their hypothetical pursuit of Maxx Crosby, and it came straight from one of the most plugged-in insiders in football.

Appearing on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia, Adam Schefter addressed the growing trade speculation surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders’ star pass rusher and made one thing very clear:

Schefter said the Raiders are not looking to move him. If they ever did, the price would be massive.

“I was told that the Raiders don’t want to trade him and that if they even contemplated it, it would take a Micah Parsons-type package,” Schefter said.

“Do I think they’re getting two ones and a player? No. Do I think they want to trade him? No,” he added.

“Do I think that they’re going to want to trade him? No. Do I think he’ll be traded? …It’ll change by the week, but it’s certainly possible.”

According to Schefter, Las Vegas isn’t shopping Crosby right now.

But if a team like the Bears even wants to test the waters, it would start with at least two first- round picks.

Raiders Setting the Bar Extremely High

Schefter’s comparison wasn’t random.

Last August, the Dallas Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers for Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks (2026 and 2027).

That type of haul represents franchise-altering compensation.

Even Schefter admitted he doesn’t believe Crosby would actually command “two firsts and a player.”

But the broader message matters more than the exact number.

Any serious conversation would likely have to include multiple first-round picks. Otherwise, there is no reason for the Raiders to trade him.

That stance aligns with what other insiders have hinted at in recent weeks.

Las Vegas views Crosby as the emotional leader of the defense and one of the few foundational pieces on the roster.

He’s under contract through 2029 and remains in his prime at 28 years old.

This isn’t a team looking to trade him. They’re setting the price sky high just to start the conversation.

What This Means for the Bears

For Chicago, the intrigue is obvious.

The Bears are still searching for consistent pass-rush production opposite Montez Sweat.

Adding one of the best pass rushers in football like Crosby would instantly elevate the defense and give the Bears one of the most disruptive edge duos in the NFL.

But Schefter’s report changes the tone.

Giving up two first-round picks for a veteran pass rusher coming off meniscus surgery is a very risky decision.

There’s also the timing factor.

Crosby may not be fully cleared medically until closer to the draft or even later in the offseason, further complicating any immediate deal.

If the Raiders ultimately decide to trade Crosby, the Bears currently have the second-best odds to land him.

But the latest update from Schefter is that the Raiders do not want to move him.

If the Bears or any other team want to test that, it is going to cost them. The conversation starts with multiple first-round picks.
