Klay Thompson Buys Megan Thee Stallion A Bentley

Megan Thee Stallion is having a great birthday. The rapper had just returned from a tropical getaway that also came with a souvenir that absolutely would not fit in her carry-on baggage. For her 31st birthday, her boyfriend and NBA superstar, Klay Thompson, surprised her with a Bentley Mulsanne.

The beautiful luxury car was splashed with a baby powder blue paint job, and had a ribbon on top. But, even though it's a sweet over-the-top gesture, we wonder if Megan would notice that her gift is actually a used luxury sedan.

Klay Thompson Went For A Used Luxury Car

I want to be very clear here. Yes, the Mulsanne here is a pre-owned vehicle because it was discontinued in 2020, but this is still a Bentley, and one that was the flagship of the legendary British carmaker for many years. The Mulsanne isn’t “used” like something with a weird smell and a mystery stain in the trunk. This is more like a discontinued luxury flagship that still grabs eyeballs when you roll in to the msot exclusive parties and clubs.

The Mulsanne was discontinued in 2020, which means Klay couldn’t exactly walk into a showroom and order one brand new with the “Birthday Bae” package. So, if he wanted that specific rolling mansion on wheels, he had to go the pre-owned route.

But, used or not, this is still the luxury sedan that boasts the world's largest twin-turbo V8.

The Mulsanne Is Still The Ultimate Luxury Sedan

So, even if Megan Thee Stallian doesn’t know the difference between a Mulsanne and any other ultra-luxury sedan, she definitely knows the difference between “happy birthday” and “happy birthday, here’s a baby-blue Bentley.” That part translates universally.

The Mulsanne was built to be unapologetically traditional and wildly plush. When production ended, Bentley positioned it as the close of an era, with thousands handcrafted in Crewe.

As for what a used Mulsanne costs today, a quick google search is all it take for you to find listings that show a pretty wide spread depending on year, mileage, and spec. Right now, I found one 2011 model hovering around $75,000, while a more recent 2020 Mulsanne Speed was listed for $190,000, and it only clocked around 4,000 miles. That's practically brand-new.

Regardless of what car she got, it's a sweet gesture from Klay, and we wish Megan a very happy birthday, as well as the very best to the both of them.
