Lebron James recently made headlines for admitting that he gave up a particular dessert while preparing for the NBA season, and the WNBA star, 24, hilariously commented on ESPN's Instagram post about it on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
The NBA legend, 41, revealed during this week's episode of “Mind the Game” that while he was out for the team's first 14 games of 2025 while coping with sciatica, he abstained from eating his beloved chocolate chip cookies and stopped drinking wine.

"I wasn’t playing obviously as the season started," James told Steve Nash on the show. "So I needed to give up something. I gotta sacrifice something — and I actually did two things that I love, that is drinking wine and my chocolate chip cookies for dessert."
The The Los Angeles Lakers superstar made clear: "I completely took it out."
ESPN posted the clip of James in conversation with Nash when he made his cookie confession, along with the headline that announced his ban on the dessert and alcoholic beverage, prompting a flurry of comments — including one from the Indiana Fever star.
"I’d rather retire than do this. This is why he’s him," Clark wrote on the Instagram post.

James missed 14 games at the start of the 2025-26 NBA season, including opening night of his record 23rd NBA season, due to a right-side sciatic nerve injury sustained around early August. He returned to the court on Nov. 18.
While the cookie and wine ban was initially implemented for the month of November to better his back from injury, James revealed that he opted to keep up the healthy habit through December.
"I kept going," he said on the show. "I didn’t have my first drink and my first piece of dessert until New Year’s. New Year’s Day. So I ended up going basically two months."

While cutting cookies from his diet was a challenge, the basketball icon said giving up wine was no cake walk either.
"Not playing, being a little stressed, I maybe wanted a glass here. A glass there,” he shared, adding, "But it was good to give my body a break."
Clark, meanwhile, is a huge cookie fan. She even went viral for naming the sweet treat when a reporter asked her to share something she likes to do that comes close to her love for basketball during a press conference in May 2024.
"I like warm chocolate chip cookies, so I guess that... making those," she said with a laugh in response.
