Raiders offensive staff continues to grow with more additions

Klint Kubiak continues to add to his first staff as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

The team has found some offensive position coaches to work under Kubiak and first-time offensive coordinator Andrew Janocko.

Zach Azzanni was officially named wide receivers coach on Wednesday, taking on a role he has had with four other teams over the last nine years. The team is also expected to name Omar Young to lead Ashton Jeanty and the running backs.

Azzanni was with the Steelers the last two seasons after one year with the Jets.

It was with Denver the previous five years when Azzanni established himself on the job as he helped mentor young talents like Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and Tim Patrick.

Kubiak was an offensive assistant on that staff with the Broncos in Azzanni’s first season on the job and returned as passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach working alongside Azzanni in 2022.

Before taking his first NFL job with the Bears in 2017, Azzanni worked in the college ranks for nearly two decades.

That experience included three years as an assistant head coach and receivers coach at his alma mater of Central Michigan where he helped spearhead the recruiting efforts to land Antonio Brown in Mount Pleasant.

Azzanni served as a graduate assistant under Urban Meyer at Bowling Green in 2001 and 2002.

Young has spent the last two years as running backs coach at Iowa and has experience at both the NFL and college levels, spending time on both offense and special teams.

The Oakland native has served in various roles with the Patriots, Bears, Packers and Browns.

Young will replace Deland McCullough, who gained national attention for his remarkable family story and is expected to be named running backs coach at Oklahoma.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
