Liverpool are among the clubs chasing RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande ahead of the summer.
The winger joined the Bundesliga side from Leganés in July 2025 and has enjoyed a good run in his debut season, managing nine goals and six assists so far.
His performances have already seen Liverpool and several other clubs take notice. Two months ago, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany of interest from the Reds, Manchester City and Chelsea.
High price for Liverpool target
Earlier this month, Sport Witness relayed claims of Liverpool scouting the 19-year-old.
Wednesday’s edition of Bild has a report on the Ivory Coast international, focusing on the Anfield club’s interest.
Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is the global sporting director of the Red Bull group. The German internally insists the attacker’s first touch is worth €15m, and the Leipzig bosses agree of the €100m sale price.
Leipzig seem to believe they’ll get a big offer from the Premier League, where Bild state Arne Slot’s side are the ‘most serious contender’.
Liverpool continue to scout Diomande
Last weekend, the Merseyside club’s scout again watched him in the 2-2 draw against VfL Wolfsburg. Diomande got his name on the scoresheet and impressed the Liverpool official.
The German club may find it difficult to retain him beyond this season if he continues to shine.
Bild state Liverpool have ‘big plans’ for the Leipzig star and is to replace Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian has a contract until 2027 but could leave Anfield after this season. It’s quite possible the newspaper are pushing him out of the club, given their recent attacks on Salah while defending Florian Wirtz.
Either way, the reports linking Diomande to Liverpool are unlikely to go away anytime soon.
Bild add Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Arsenal are also in the picture, but the Reds may have the upper hand.
