Kevin Durant responds to burner account rumors

Kevin Durant addressed social media rumors linking him to an anonymous "burner" account criticizing players and coaches, but he insisted he’s focused on the season.

Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant finds himself at the center of a fresh social media stir, as rumors circulate that he may be behind an anonymous "burner" account criticizing players and coaches.

The speculation surfaced shortly after Durant played in his 16th NBA All-Star Game on Sunday. Durant addressed the chatter following Houston's practice on Wednesday, keeping his focus firmly on basketball.

"I know you gotta ask these questions, but I'm not here to get into Twitter nonsense," he said per Kelly Iko of Yahoo. "I'm just here to focus on the season, keep it pushing. But I get you have to ask those questions."

He added confidence about his team's preparation and mindset: "My teammates know what it is. We've been locked in the whole season. We had a great practice today, looking forward to this road trip."

At present, there is no evidence directly linking Durant to the anonymous posts, which included criticisms of Rockets center Alperen Sengun, forward Jabari Smith Jr., and even former Suns teammate Devin Booker.

On the court, Durant remains one of the league's top performers. Now in his 18th NBA season and representing the Rockets in his 19th year overall, he is shooting over 50% from the field and above 40% from three, averaging a team-high 25.8 points per game.

Houston currently sits fourth in the Western Conference with a 33-20 record.
