The Bengals re-signed a wide receiver

The Cincinnati Bengals offense has been among the best in the NFL since the team drafted quarterback Joe Burrow in the 2020 NFL Draft. Since 2021, the team has finished in the top 12 in points per game in four out of five seasons. Aside from Burrow, the team relies heavily on its superstar wide receiver duo of Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Despite missing the postseason in three consecutive seasons, the offense has not lacked scoring. The majority of the Bengals’ issues have been on the defensive side of the ball. Cincinnati has ensured that the top three offensive playmakers remain under contract as Burrow, Chase and Higgins have all signed long-term extensions with the franchise.

Depth has also been important for Cincinnati as players like Mike Gesicki, Chase Brown, and Andrei Iosivas have come up big in key situations for the team. Another member of the Bengals’ offensive skill position group has now ensured that he will remain a part of the Bengals for the 2026 season.

Cincinnati Bengals Re-Sign Wide Receiver

The Cincinnati Bengals announced they had re-signed wide receiver Kendric Pryor. In their official announcement, the Bengals posted, “Pryor, who will be a second-year player in 2026, has spent the majority of the past three seasons (’23-25) on Cincinnati’s practice squad. He played in two games for the Bengals as a practice squad elevation in 2024, recording one reception for nine yards and two kickoff returns for 43 yards.”

Pryor has had two stints with the Bengals. He signed with Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent in 2022, before the team waived him and the Jaguars claimed him. Following roster cuts by the Jaguars in 2023, he returned to the Bengals, where he has spent the last three seasons.

Coming into the 2022 NFL Draft, SB Nation writer Owen Riese described Pryor as, “An explosive athlete at the position. He has above average straight line speed and is an impressive athlete linearly. Has shown strong hands throughout his Badgers career. Has experience both on the perimeter and in the slot. Willing as a blocker.”

The Bengals have not announced whether he signed a standard contract or a reserve/future contract.

Bengals Defensive Signing

Pryor marks the second move the Bengals have made these past few days. The team announced they had also re-signed cornerback Jalen Davis, after he played a large role in the team’s defense down the stretch last season.

In the official announcement of his extension, the Bengals said, “Nickel back Jalen Davis, coming off a season he played nearly the same amount of snaps he had during his five previous seasons combined as a Bengal, announced to the world Tuesday that he’s staying away from free agency and re-upping for this year.”

The veteran cornerback became a top contributor on the Cincinnati defense late in the season as he played the majority of the team’s defensive snaps in six of the final seven games of the season. Playing as the team’s primary nickel back, he wasgraded well by Pro Football Focus, which gave him a 65.5 overall grade.
