The Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs are typically two of the elite teams in the AFC.
Though 2025 was a down season for both, they're usually battling it out for the best record and No. 1 seed in the conference come playoff time.
There could be a new wrinkle added to the budding rivalry after some head-turning social media activity from Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
The 29-year-old signal-caller caught the attention of some recently when it appeared he was potentially trying to recruit one of the Chiefs' top wide receivers to come join him in Baltimore.
"Valentines special 💜," Brown posted on his Instagram story.
Jackson saw the message and promptly responded by saying: "Purple Heart means Hollywood to the Ravens 😅."
Usually, such social media banter would be no reason to bat an eye. However, Jackson and Brown are former teammates, and with the latter set to hit free agency, Jackson's social media message could be seen as a recruiting pitch (and potentially tampering, though it's unlikely anything would come of that).
Brown spent the first here seasons of his NFL career in Baltimore after being drafted with the 25th overall pick in 2019. He enjoyed his best season as a pro back in 2021, logging 91 catches, 1,008 yards and six touchdowns - his only 1,000-yard season, and the only year he totaled more than 67 catches.
The Oklahoma alum was Kansas City's second-leading pass-catcher last season, totaling 49 catches, 587 yards, and five touchdowns. He led all Chiefs WRs in yards, touchdowns, and first downs (29).
The Ravens are in the market for a strong No. 2 wide receiver option behind Zay Flowers, who led the team with 86 catches, 1,211 yards, and five scores last season. Flowers has logged back-to-back seasons with 1,000 yards and at least 74 receptions - the problem is Baltimore hasn't really had a strong secondary target behind him.
Brown would give them that, and a pass-catcher who already has a history with Jackson.
