Chelsea transfer target Yan Diomande has an asking price of “more than £80m”, according to reports.

TalkSPORT claim that the Blues are “keeping tabs” on the 19-year-old, along with Manchester United and Liverpool.

However, Diomande’s club, RB Leipzig are, not interested in letting him go on the cheap, having only signed the player for €20m last summer.

There is a chance that the Ivorian international’s valuation could drop by the summer, but that would depend on Leipzig failing to qualify for the Champions League. The German club are currently sitting in 5th, two points outside the qualification places.

Chelsea could have signed the player for nothing

Diomande revealed earlier this week that he had the chance to move to Stamford Bridge at the start of last year.

However, the winger opted to join La Liga minnows Leganes instead because of his existing relationship with the club’s president and the greater prospects of first-teamm football. Within six months, he had left to join Leipzig.

Diomande’s arrival could lead to departures

Blues boss Liam Rosenior already has four wingers at his disposal, and Geovany Quenda will also be joining from Sporting Lisbon this summer. You could get the latest Chelsea home kit with one of their names on the back at the official Chelsea store.

Adding Diomande to the mix would increase competition even further. The likes of Estevao would be safe, but you do wonder about players like Pedro Neto. The Portuguese international has been linked with a transfer to Spain in recent weeks, but the forward (who scored a hat-trick against Hull City last week) is said to be happy in London.
