Erin Andrews Admits To Feeling 'Guilt' With Her NFL Broadcasting Career

Longtime NFL reporter Erin Andrews opened up about feeling "guilt" during her broadcasting career.

Andrews, 46, became a mom two years ago. She and her husband, former NHL star Jarret Stoll, welcomed their first child into the world, a son named Mack.

While Andrews is enjoying motherhood as much as possible, she often feels "mom guilt." Andrews is on the road a lot due to her job. She travels every week of the NFL season and still has some travel in the offseason.

"I wanted to go home because I was having a lot of guilt, and I learned a lot about guilt this week," Erin said during a recent episode of Calm Down with Erin and Charissa,. "I just felt bad because I have been on the road so much, and I feel like this is supposed to be my time with my child."

Andrews' son is getting old enough to know when his mom isn't around. She said she feels bad when she can tell that her son is in a "bad mood" when she's not at home.

The longtime NFL reporter is among many working women balancing their careers and motherhood. It's never easy and there's no perfect solution.

But Andrews' son can certainly look up to his mom and see what a successful, hard-working person she is. And that is a great thing.

Andrews, family had tough road to motherhood

Getting to motherhood wasn't easy. Andrews and her husband went through several rounds of IVF, miscarriages and more.

She was ultimately able to welcome a child into the world via surrogacy.

"I'd call him and be like, ‘I'm in the drive-thru of McDonald's again, having a sausage biscuit breakfast sandwich because we just got bad news," she recalled.

"It was 10 years of (expletive)," she adds.

Andrews and her husband had several difficult periods.

"We lost twins via surrogacy and that was really hard," she says. "I really struggled mentally. I didn't handle it very well ... I kind of tried to push it aside and act like everything was OK."

Andrews is now overjoyed to be a mom.

"I just could not stop crying," she says. "(Mack) was our golden embryo. He was our last hope."
