Chelsea fans see£82 million attacker told to make Premier League move

Tim Howard says he would like to see former Chelsea star Christian Pulisic at Manchester United and is confident the forward could reach ‘another level’ back in the Premier League if he makes the move back from AC Milan

Pulisic, who joined Milan from CHELSEA in 2023, has enjoyed a strong resurgence in Serie A, becoming a key attacking figure under manager Stefano Pioli. His ability to operate across the front line, combined with a renewed run of consistent form and fitness, has seen him re-establish his reputation as one of the most dynamic wide forwards in European football.

According to the report, Man United’s recruitment department has been monitoring Pulisic’s progress throughout the season as part of a broader reassessment of their attacking options. With uncertainty surrounding several of the club’s current forwards and an ongoing push to refresh the squad under the new sporting structure at Old Trafford, Pulisic is viewed as a player who could add pace, directness, and creativity to the attack.

The 27-year-old, a central figure for the United States men’s national soccer team, has recorded some of the best numbers of his career since arriving in Italy. His improved productivity in the final third and his ability to influence games from both flanks have significantly elevated his market value.

Milan, recognising both his impact and his commercial appeal, are understood to be reluctant sellers. However, the report suggests the club may consider a sizeable offer in the £80 million range, a figure that could test their resolve amid their own plans to strengthen the squad.

And amid all the speculation, Howard has opened up and claimed that Pulisic could reach another level if he joined United in the summer: ‘I’m going to put him in a very high class here… Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah, we now know the finished products,’ He said on Unfiltered Soccer when discussing the rumours linking Pulisic with a return to England.

‘When I say those names, people are going to go, “Huh? Those are two of the greatest players in Premier League history”, but I remember Kevin De Bruyne at Chelsea, I remember Mohamed Salah at Chelsea.

‘They weren’t good enough, apparently, so they went abroad. Mohamed Salah went to Roma and Kevin De Bruyne went to Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg.

‘They were the players that they were, they gained confidence, they did all those things, they came back to the Premier League and then it was game over, history was written. I sort of feel like that with Christian Pulisic as well because he was at Borussia Dortmund. We get it, it’s a big club. He was still young, though, and he then goes to Chelsea.

‘I backed him to the hilt at CHELSEA and unfortunately he didn’t get the rub of the green, went through some different coaches and then he went off. But he sort of reminds me of Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne in that he went off, he’s matured and he’s older, and he’s gone to one of the best teams in the league.

‘He’s put AC Milan on his back and he’s been the best player in that league so now I think, from the physical, football maturity-side, he now comes back to the Premier League, and he gets slotted into a Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, I think there’s actually another level for him.

‘I personally like it.’
