Arsenal have assembled a squad capable of challenging across four competitions this season, though the club are already making preparations for the summer transfer window. The Gunners will be strengthening from a position of power as manager Mikel Arteta seeks to deliver trophies this campaign.
Arsenal sit at the top of the Premier League and their attention now shifts to Sunday's north London derby. The Gunners will be aware of facing their rivals in new manager Igor Tudor's first match as Spurs attempt to dent Arsenal's title aspirations.
Off the field, Arsenal have been linked with potential signings ahead of the upcoming transfer window. Here, football.london examines some of the recent stories surrounding the club.
Julian Alvarez stance
Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez has reportedly revealed his preferred transfer destination. The ex-Manchester City player was touted with a move to Arsenal last month and is valued at approximately £87million.

Argentina international Alvarez recently scored against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-finals, bringing his total to 41 goals in 91 matches for Atletico. The Gunners are claimed to be among several Premier League sides pursuing the 26-year-old, along with Chelsea and Manchester United.
However, Spanish outlet Sport reports Alvarez would prefer a switch to Barcelona should he leave Diego Simeone's outfit. Despite attention from Premier League sides, the forward is said to favour remaining in La Liga.
While this is a setback for Arsenal, Barcelona's struggles to meet his asking price provide the Gunners with some hope. Meanwhile, Atletico are claimed to have presented Alvarez with a new deal in a bid to ward off suitors, despite his current contract running through to 2030.

Transfer target set for contract offer
Inter Milan are similarly believed to be working to prevent Arsenal from pursuing young forward Pio Esposito. The 20-year-old is experiencing a breakthrough campaign at Inter, recording six goals and six assists in 32 appearances.
Esposito was promoted to Inter's senior squad following his successful loan stint at Spezia and the Italy international's displays have caught attention. Italian publication Tuttosport states that Inter are attempting to extend the forward's contract amid interest from Arsenal.

The Italian club have already demonstrated their determination to retain the promising striker. Earlier in the season, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Inter had turned down a bid of approximately £42m for Esposito from an undisclosed club.
According to Tuttosport, the emerging talent has become a target for Arsenal as the club seek a younger forward to bolster their existing attacking options. However, Inter are reportedly ready to treble the striker's wages to retain his services at the San Siro.
