Chelsea are reportedly weighing a summer approach for winger Ousmane Dembélé, with fresh claims from Spanish outlet Fichajes suggesting the London club could take advantage of growing uncertainty surrounding the player’s situation at Paris Saint-Germain.
As speculation builds over potential changes within the PSG dressing room, Dembélé has emerged as a high-profile option for Liam Rosenior, who is believed to be prioritising a dynamic forward capable of producing moments of individual brilliance.
Since arriving in Paris from Barcelona, Dembélé has delivered flashes of his undeniable talent—dribbling at pace, unpredictable movement, and the rare two-footed explosiveness that made him one of Europe’s most coveted attackers.
However, despite his technical gifts, the French international has yet to fully settle into a definitive role at PSG, and recent reports hint at tension and instability behind the scenes. With a Champions League-focused rebuild expected at the Parc des Princes, Dembélé’s future is not guaranteed.
For CHELSEA, the potential opportunity is intriguing. Liam Roseniors side, while boasting strong attacking depth, have at times lacked a consistent one-on-one specialist capable of unlocking deep defences.
Dembélé’s profile perfectly aligns with the manager’s desire for a forward who can stretch play, beat markers, and add unpredictability in the final third. His experience in top European competitions also fits Chelsea’s ambition to maintain their upward trajectory both domestically and in Europe.
A move, however, would be complicated. Dembélé remains under contract at PSG, and although the club may be open to adjustments within their squad, they would likely demand a substantial fee.
His salary, too, represents a significant investment—one Arsenal would have to weigh carefully against their broader transfer strategy and financial parameters. Injuries have also been a recurring theme throughout Dembélé’s career, adding an element of risk to any deal.
Would signing Dembele be a good option for Chelsea?
Pursuing Dembélé would be a bold but calculated gamble. the Blues need a another difference-maker in tight matches, someone capable of conjuring something from nothing, and few players in world football possess his raw ability.
Yet questions over fitness, cost, and stability cannot be ignored. If the club believes they can keep Dembele fit and get the best out of the French star, for the right price, he could be a good option for Dembele.
However – he is not a player that CHELSEA really needs with all that quality they have in attack.
