Liverpool close to sealing €35m arrival – Reds can close deal within weeks

Liverpool have taken a significant step in the chase for Allan Elias, with reports in Brazil claiming they are now close to agreeing terms with Palmeiras.

According to local sources, Liverpool currently hold preference in negotiations and want to structure a deal that would see the 21-year-old arrive after the Club World Cup. Palmeiras are pushing for a package that could reach €35m (£30m), including performance-related bonuses.

The final figure has not been sealed yet. However, both clubs are said to be working on clauses that would allow the Brazilian side to approach their valuation without compromising Liverpool’s long-term planning.

Palmeiras do not consider Allan untouchable. In fact, the club built part of their 2026 financial strategy around his potential sale. A transfer in the region of €35m (£30m) would move them closer to their projected revenue target of around €70m (£60m) from new player sales.

The structure mirrors previous Brazilian exports. Liverpool would secure the player now but delay his arrival, protecting Palmeiras’ sporting objectives in the short term.

Newcastle interest fades as Liverpool act

Newcastle United had pushed strongly for Allan earlier in the window. Reports described the Magpies as preparing an “immediate” agreement and willing to invest heavily. However, they never submitted a formal offer. Aston Villa were linked too.

Napoli failed with proposals reaching €35m (£30m), while Benfica and MLS clubs made enquiries. Liverpool now appear to be the first side to move discussions into advanced territory.

Allan has a contract until 2029 and a release clause near €100m (£86m). He did not become an undisputed starter under Abel Ferreira, yet he delivered key performances in decisive matches and remains one of Palmeiras’ most valuable asset

What happens next

If Liverpool complete the agreement in the coming weeks, Newcastle may face a late decision. Either they accelerate with a counter-move, or they step aside.

For now, Liverpool lead the race. There’s a belief the transfer could be signed off in the next few weeks.
