Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to fuel speculation about his future with the Milwaukee Bucks. The franchise drafted him in 2013, and he has spent his entire career in Milwaukee. Over the years, he developed into one of history’s greatest players and led the team to an NBA title in 2021.
Still, three straight first round playoff eliminations have cast doubt on the superstar forward’s long term outlook with the organization. In a recent exclusive interview with COSMOTE TV, he addressed questions about his loyalty to the franchise both now and moving forward.
“As Americans say, opinions are cheap — that’s why everyone has one. Right now, at this moment, I’m in Milwaukee,” commented the Bucks superstar forward.
There is no denying that Giannis Antetokounmpo has built an impressive résumé with the Bucks. He delivered the 2021 championship and captured two MVP awards, achievements that have firmly positioned him among the greatest players in franchise history.

“I don’t know if I’ll leave — it’s not up to me. If it was up to me, maybe I already would have left. In a year and a half, when I become a free agent at 32, it will be up to me,” Giannis Antetokounmpo continued.
Even in his 13th season, Antetokounmpo has remained dominant, though injuries have sidelined him at times. Across 30 games, he is putting up 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per night. He is converting 64.5 percent of his shots from the field, knocking down 39.5 percent from three point range, and hitting 65.8 percent of his free throws.

Milwaukee owns a 23-30 record this season, which places the team 12th in the Eastern Conference standings. They sit eight games ahead of the Brooklyn Nets and nine games in front of the Indiana Pacers. However, they remain just behind the Chicago Bulls due to a tiebreaker and trail the Atlanta Hawks by 1.5 games.
The Bucks will return to action on the road before coming back home for four straight games. They face the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday.
