Chelsea will get£70M deal done–Blues free sign Brazilian for£100M–Chelsea fans will welcome world class signing

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Murillo, Jalian Alvarez and Nicolas Jackson that you may have missed….

Chelsea have been informed that it will take a fee in the region of £100 million to prise midfielder Elliot Anderson away from Nottingham Forest this summer, according to a report from Goal.

The 23-year-old has emerged as one of the most intriguing transfer stories ahead of the upcoming window, with his rapid rise attracting attention from several top-flight clubs — but none more prominently than Chelsea.

Anderson, who joined Forest from Newcastle United a few transfer windows ago, has quietly become a key figure at the City Ground. His energy, ball progression, and versatility across midfield roles have made him invaluable within Forest’s structure.

His development has not gone unnoticed, and Chelsea’s recruitment team — still heavily focused on young, high-upside profiles — have reportedly placed him near the top of their summer shortlist.

Goal’s report indicates that Forest have no desire to sell but acknowledge that significant offers could force a rethink given the £100 million valuation that is believed to reflect both his long-term potential and the importance of the player to Forest’s current project.

CHELSEA’s interest is understood to stem from their broader midfield planning. With the futures of several players uncertain and the club aiming to shift towards a more physically dynamic and tactically flexible midfield, Anderson’s profile aligns with long-term strategic goals.

His ability to carry the ball through pressure, win duels, press aggressively, and operate both centrally and in wider advanced roles makes him a fit for the multi-functional style Chelsea continue to build toward.

A move to Stamford Bridge, however, would come with considerations on both sides. For Chelsea, committing £100 million to a player with only a short track record of top-flight football would represent a significant gamble. While Anderson’s performances have been promising, such a fee would place him among the most expensive signings in club history — and with it, heightened expectations.

For Anderson, the decision would hinge on playing time. CHELSEA’s squad remains highly competitive, with young talents often rotating or being loaned out to gain experience. Although the club has shown a willingness to trust emerging players, breaking into the first team consistently would be a challenge, particularly in a season where the club’s ambitions include returning to the Champions League and closing the gap on the Premier League’s top sides.

However, the risks are equally clear. Several promising talents have struggled for minutes at Chelsea in recent seasons due to squad depth and managerial turnover. Anderson would need to adapt quickly and prove he can thrive in a system that demands high technical consistency and tactical awareness. The transition from being a focal point at Forest to potentially a rotational player in London could disrupt his momentum.

Whether the move would be good for Anderson depends largely on perspective. If he values development within a top-tier environment and is willing to battle for minutes, Chelsea could accelerate his growth. But if immediate, guaranteed playing time is a priority, remaining at Forest — or waiting for a different opportunity — may be wiser.

For now, CHELSEA are assessing the feasibility of a deal, while Forest stand firm on their valuation. As the summer window approaches, Anderson’s future is shaping up to be a headline taker.

CHELSEA FANS WILL WELCOME ALVAREZ

Fans of Chelsea would almost certainly greet the arrival of Julián Álvarez from Atlético Madrid with a mix of excitement, curiosity, and cautious optimism. After several turbulent seasons defined by inconsistent recruitment and uneven squad cohesion, according to reporter Iomie Stanley.

He told icfootballnews: ‘CHELSEA supporters are eager for signings that symbolise clarity of purpose.

Álvarez, with his relentless energy, positional versatility, and established pedigree at the highest levels of European football, fits neatly into the profile many fans believe the club has lacked: a forward who contributes creatively while also pressing intelligently from the front.

‘For a fanbase that has grown weary of potential-over-proven-quality gambles, Álvarez represents something refreshingly reliable. His work rate alone would win over sections of Stamford Bridge almost instantly, and his ability to operate as a second striker, false nine, or wide forward provides tactical flexibility that CHELSEA’s current frontline lacks.

‘Many supporters would view him as the kind of signing that bridges past and future — a hardworking attacker with the pedigree of the title-winning era, yet still young enough to be part of a long-term project.

‘However, not all reactions would be universally euphoric. The price tag—likely significant—would spark debate. Some fans would question whether allocating a large chunk of the summer budget to a forward is the wisest strategic decision, especially with other areas of the squad still lacking clarity.

‘A portion of the fanbase has grown sceptical of blockbuster signings, having witnessed several high-profile arrivals struggle to adapt or meet inflated expectations.

‘There would also be curiosity about how Álvarez fits into the existing system. Would he displace a current starter? Would his role be clearly defined, or would he join the long list of attackers asked to constantly adapt? In a club still searching for identity under evolving leadership, those are legitimate concerns that supporters would raise.

‘Still, the prevailing mood would lean strongly toward anticipation. The combination of pedigree, age, mentality, and stylistic compatibility makes Álvarez the type of acquisition fans have long hoped for: not just a name, but a footballer whose traits directly address long-standing weaknesses.

‘Should the signing materialise, CHELSEA supporters would almost certainly fill social media with enthusiasm, cautious takes, projected lineups, and bold predictions.

‘But he would certainly get the rest of the Premier League talking’

CHELSEA WILL SELL NICOLAS JACKSON

Reporter Iomie Stanley has opened up and claimed that he feels Nicolas Jackson will be one of the players that Chelsea will allow to leave in the summer transfer window, as there could be a massive shake-up at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea made the decision last summer to bring in Liam Delap and Joao Pedro to the club in order to solve their goal-scoring problems, as Nicolas Jackson failed to make the impact that many had hoped for after his move from Spanish football.

However – both Delap and Pedro have been very inconsistent this season, while Jackson was shipped out to Bayern Munich in order to get him off the books for a season, but the summer window will give Chelsea the chance to offload the deadwood and also add some quality to that attack.

Now, amid the speculation Stanley believes there could be a summer shake-up among Chelsea’s forwards which is likely to see Jackson sold, and claims that the Blues will look to get around £70 million for the striker: “It feels like Jackson’s going to go, it feels like he has no future at Stamford Bridge even with a new manager in charge of the club.

“My guess would be that a few clubs from Saudi Arabia show an interest, some sides from La Liga make some noise over a potential deal, but it really feels that a move back to Stamford Bridge would not work for Jackson.

“He needs to go and play every week, he will be a player Chelsea will look to cash in on.’

IcFootballnews Says…

There are times at Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, that Jackson looks like a striker that could 30 goals a season, but he simply cant put in the consistent performances that would make him a top class striker.

If Stanley is right and Chelsea manage to get £70 million for Jackson in the summer window, they will be very lucky as he is probably worth only half of that. But he is right in saying that Jackson is probably done at Stamford Bridge and will leave.

The Blues have big plans and getting his £250k-a-week wages of the books will be a massive help in their quest to keep adding to the squad.
