The Las Vegas Raiders have made a potentially significant interview request, seeking to speak with Minnesota Vikings assistant offensive coordinator Jordan Traylor to become their quarterbacks coach.

Following their disappointing 2025 season, which saw the Raiders go 3–14, Las Vegas' Mark Davis and Tom Brady opted to clean house, firing head coach Pete Carroll after just one year. In his place, the Raiders have hired Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak as their next head coach, fresh off his helping his former team to Super Bowl glory against the New England Patriots.

With Kubiak having been the last head coaching hire of the 2026 cycle, he has since been making moves to fill out his staff, recently hiring Mike McCoy as Las Vegas' assistant head coach. They have also hired Zach Azzanni as their new wide receivers coach, alongside Joe DeCamillis as their special teams coordinator and Rick Dennison as a senior offensive advisor.

On Wednesday, they also requested to speak with Vikings assistant OC Jordan Traylor about becoming their quarterbacks coach. Kubiak opted to promote Las Vegas' 2025 quarterbacks coach, Andrew Janocko, to their OC, creating a vacancy.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Raiders want to interview Traylor, who has previously worked with Kubiak during their time together with the New Orleans Saints.

He has also worked alongside Sean Payton, when he was coaching the Saints, and Kevin O'Connell, after spending the last year with the Vikings.

The Raiders quarterback coach job will be an enticing one, with Traylor likely to be afforded the chance to coach Indiana's Fernando Mendoza, who is expected to be the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Mendoza enjoyed a stunning season with the Hoosiers, winning the Heisman Trophy whilst also taking the previously losingest program to the summit of college football after Indiana defeated Miami in the College Football Playoff finale at Hard Rock Stadium in January.

Recently, Kubiak admitted during an interview that while he had not fully dug into Mendoza as a prospect, he was impressed by how he carried himself during the 2025 college football season, adding the Indiana quarterback has a "bright future."

"My exposure is very limited," Kubiak said.

"I saw him play the national championship game, I saw the interviews he's given after those games and how team-oriented he is. I look forward to getting to know the player better, but obviously a really talented guy with a bright future.

"We'll see. We'll see where it ends up. But we've got a lot of work to do to get to know him before that time comes."
