Arne Slot rules out Liverpool man vs Nottingham Forest

Arne Slot has provided his injury update on the squad ahead of facing Nottingham Forest.

Wataru Endo’s injury has become another worrying chapter in Liverpool’s increasingly bruising season.

The Japan international was stretchered off during the gritty 1-0 win at Sunderland, having landed awkwardly while making a crucial late clearance inside his own box. Medical staff rushed on and he required several minutes of treatment before being taken off, with Joe Gomez coming on to see the game out. Slot admitted in his immediate post‑match comments that it looked like a “serious” foot problem and that the club would need further assessment to know the full extent.

In his subsequent press duties, the Liverpool head coach has repeatedly warned that Endo will be out “for quite a long time”, with fears the 33‑year‑old could miss much of the run‑in. It piles more pressure on an already patched‑up defence and leaves Slot juggling options at right-back again.

Now speaking in his pre-Nottingham Forest press conference, the Dutch manager has revealed that Jeremie Frimpong is ruled out of the clash vs Nottingham Forest.

He also mentioned that Endo and Isak are still far away from a return:

“Jeremie will not be involved this week, we hope he will be involved next week if things go as plans.”

“Wata will be out for a long time, we don’t know exactly how long.”

“Alex has been on the pitch with his running shoes for the first time this week so it will still be a while.”

“I think Joe (Gomez) is ready to start, yes he is.”
