Report; Five Premier League clubs now want Chelsea player, including Man United and Everton

The summer window is fast approaching, and while there is plenty left to play for this season, Chelsea’s transfer team will be hard at work when it comes to sorting out the squad for next term.

While Chelsea wanted to sign players in January and tried to sign the likes of Jeremy Jacquet and Douglas Luiz in the winter window, nothing happened. It all suggests Chelsea will be even busier in the summer.

A new goalkeeper, a leading centre-back, more depth in midfield, cover for Cole Palmer, better options out wide, and a centre-forward are expected to be priorities for Chelsea come the end of the campaign.

But for that to happen, players will be sold to make room for new additions. Last summer, Chelsea spent almost £300m but raked in more than that, and it is expected that the same will happen this summer.

Liam Delap on the chopping block with five clubs interested

Fringe players will be sold. Reports say Chelsea are willing to listen to offers for Tosin Adarabioyo, Trevoh Chalobah, and Benoit Badiashile, and that’s just at centre-back. Up top, the competition is set to grow.

Chelsea have signed Emmanuel Emegha, and he will join a three-man list of strikers, with another likely to be signed. Joao Pedro is the first choice, Liam Delap is second, and Marc Guiu could leave on loan again.

According to Caught Offside, Chelsea sources claim it would be a surprise to see Delap at Chelsea next season. It is reported that five Premier League clubs are keeping tabs, including Manchester United.

Newly-promoted side Sunderland are also tempted in their pursuit of a new striker, while Everton were keen last summer and they remain interested. Newcastle and Brighton are also monitoring Delap.

Has Liam Delap been given a fair crack of the whip?

Bought for £30m after a stellar season with Ipswich, Delap has managed just one Premier League goal for Chelsea. But there are glimpses of Delap’s quality, laying on three assists in the 4-0 win over Hull City.

Is Liam Delap not good enough for Chelsea or are we not playing to his strengths?🤔

Roy Keane does not believe Delap is getting the required game time he needs to shine in a Chelsea shirt and when he does, he’s being used incorrectly, like as a right-sided winger against Arsenal in the Cup.

It’s not as if Delap is a slow burner, he just needs a run in the side to get back to his best. But whether he can get that at Chelsea remains to be seen, with Joao Pedro in such sparkling form at the moment.
