Liverpool’s summer planning is already beginning to take shape – and it might just involve a raid on the Brazilian market.
European giants are increasingly targeting South American talent before their valuations skyrocket upon moving to major leagues.
Real Madrid exemplifies this strategy perfectly, securing Vinicius Junior from Flamengo for in 2017, Federico Valverde from Penarol for €5 million in 2015, and Rodrygo from Santos for €45 million in 2019.
These investments have paid dividends, with all three becoming integral first-team players worth considerably more today.
Liverpool have also recognized this approach it seems, as reports in Brazil are claiming that the Reds are in for Palmeiras midfielder Allan Elias, who has been strongly tipped for a move to Anfield.
It is claimed Liverpool have moved into pole position and are negotiating a deal that could be worth up to around £30m including performance-related bonuses – with Palmeiras planning part of their 2026 budget around his sale.
The proposed structure would see the Reds secure Allan’s signature soon but leave him in Brazil until after the World Cup, allowing Palmeiras to keep a key asset for the rest of the year while still cashing in at a favourable price.
Who is Allan?
Allan Andrade Elias is a 21‑year‑old Brazilian attacking midfielder who plays for Palmeiras, usually from the right side. Born in 2004 in Florianópolis, he joined Palmeiras’ academy from Figueirense in 2019 and worked his way through the youth ranks.
He signed his first professional deal and was promoted to the senior squad ahead of the 2025 season, quickly making his debut in the Campeonato Paulista and scoring his first professional goal against Mirassol in February of that year.
Allan later extended his contract with Palmeiras until 2029 after breaking into the first team and featuring in Série A and the Copa Libertadores.
He is known for his dribbling, versatility and ability to play as a playmaker, winger or second midfielder behind the striker.
