Mikel Arteta saw Arsenal draw 2-2 with Wolves on Wednesday night

Arsenal dropped another two points against Wolves on Wednesday night as the Premier League title race took yet another turn.

After the 1-1 draw with Brentford last week, the Gunners really needed to return to winning ways in the Midlands and looked destined to do just that with Bukayo Saka and Piero Hincapie giving the away side a 2-0 lead. Hugo Bueno gave Rod Edwards' side hope with a stunning curling effort, though, before a David Raya and Gabriel mix-up allowed Tom Edozie to score on his debut.

The draw means the north Londoners are five points clear of Manchester City, although Pep Guardiola's side have one game in hand. Win that and the Cityzens will be just two points behind the Gunners, with the clash between the two sides at Etihad Stadium in April looking all the more important.

With that said, football.london's writers have their say on the Premier League title race...

As a neutral, this is exactly what I had hoped for. I did not want one team running away with it and it looks like this season's title race will go to the wire. How exciting.

If you're Arsenal you do not panic. You have the points on the board and that is what matters. I would still rather be in Arsenal's position than Man City's. You feel Pep Guardiola's team have to win against Newcastle on Saturday night, however, to really turn the dial on the Gunners. Do that and the North London Derby becomes very interesting.

I am still predicting Arsenal to lift the trophy come May. But the match at City in April is a game they simply cannot lose. Arteta needs to rally his troops and come away from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday with three points. Anything less and my opinion may change...

Arsenal are in serious trouble of letting their big Premier League title race advantage slip. Five points still separate the Gunners and Manchester City, but that could very easily be gone by next Sunday.

As things stand, Mikel Arteta's side look to be cracking under the pressure, but thankfully, minus their impressive comeback at Anfield, Pep Guardiola's side are not at their free-flowing best.

Though the title is no longer technically in their hands, Arsenal have shown more over the last 27 gameweeks to finally get the job done.

While City are certainly the team capable of going on winning streaks during the run-in, I expect Arsenal to still win the league, but a far more interesting conclusion is now on the horizon.

I think it's pretty obvious where Arsenal go from here - there is no margin for any more errors. It's win, win and win until the final game of the season to avoid giving Manchester City any opportunity.

Their last few games have been a let-down for a side that should have done far more to keep themselves in pole position for the Premier League title. Instead, the pressure seems to have crept in - especially away from home. Letting a two‑goal lead slip in the league for the first time since that West Ham match in April 2023 is a worrying sign, and it brings an end to an 18‑game streak of winning on the road when two goals ahead.

Pep Guardiola's City will be watching all of this with a grin, sensing an opportunity to close the gap to just two points. And with the North London derby looming, Arsenal face another test they simply cannot afford to stumble in if they want to avoid waving goodbye to the title race. I'm still backing Arsenal to lift the trophy, though the margin for error has evaporated, and every remaining fixture until May 24 feels like a defining moment in their season.

It'll be interesting to see how Mikel Arteta guides his players through the pressure from here.

It seems like it could be a case of always the bridesmaid but never the bride once more for Mikel Arteta this season. The club have waited more than two decades to clinch a Premier League title, and if Wednesday's showing is anything to go off, then they may have to wait a short while more.

The writing is on the wall in north London at present; no more mistakes. The Gunners sit just five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table, with Pep Guardiola's Sky Blues able to close that gap to just two should they run riot over Newcastle on Saturday.

A gripping Premier League title race could ultimately boil down to April's clash between Arsenal and City, and given the game will take place at the Etihad, the odds for success in that match are surely against them. Gunners fans may want to cover their ears for what I'm about to say, but despite Guardiola having a lacklustre season in part in 2025/26, you can't ever rule the Spanish tactician out.

Arsenal have left the door wide open for Manchester City to snatch the Premier League, and they have no one else to blame but themselves. The Gunners have crumbled under the pressure, again, winning just three of their last eight games in the English top flight.

Mikel Arteta's side have had a shaky start to the year and, unless they leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with three points on Sunday, I can't see them lifting the trophy in May. Until now, I was absolutely certain that this would finally be the season that they would do it, but the cracks are beginning to show again.

It's not even as if Arsenal have been playing well either. If they don't shift back into gear this weekend, then it could be all over before March. That said, Manchester City have shown signs of weakness at times this season, and they've struggled to be as consistent as in the past.

While it's possible that they take a stumble as well, Pep Guardiola will smell the blood in the water.

I think that Manchester City will win the Premier League title. While Arsenal have put themselves in a strong position and have had a terrific season so far, it does feel as though the wheels are falling off at the Emirates Stadium and back-to-back draws at Brentford and Wolves are no good at this stage.

After City reeled off successive wins against Liverpool and Fulham, Arsenal would have made a real statement by beating Brentford and Wolves and making it nine clear at the top of the league.

But, now with the points deficit down to five, City boasting a game in hand and the Gunners having to travel to the Etihad Stadium in April, I do think Pep Guardiola's side are going to go on and win it.

They have the momentum right now and the experience of going on a winning run near the back end of the season to claim the title. For me, City will beat Arsenal in the reverse fixture and lift the title.
