Predicting the 2026 NFL free agent signings

It’s officially that time: the NFL franchise-tag window is open (through March 3), the negotiation window hits March 9-11, and the league year opens March 11 – the annual three-week stretch where GMs cosplay as geniuses and then restructure their way out of bad decisions.. Using the most current rankings and team fit, here are my free agent predictions for the top guys – the spots that make the most sense and the ones that fanbases will convince themselves were obvious all along.

A win-now defense needs a closer. Reunions sell, sacks win, and Indy’s been “one pass rush away” for years.

George Pickens – Dallas Cowboys

This screams franchise tag. The tag chatter is loud for a reason, and Dallas can’t let that explosive profile walk.

Daniel Jones – (stays with) Indianapolis Colts

The Achilles timeline is the bugaboo, but Indy fits: run game + play-action – and he doesn’t need to be the hero.

Tyreek Hill – Kansas City Chiefs

If his knee checks out, the reunion is the cleanest contender fit and the easiest way for KC to add instant respect back to the offense.

Mike Evans – New York Giants

Big-body WR1, red-zone hammer, and a perfect fit for a new regime trying to stabilize the passing game alongside Malik Nabers.

Alec Pierce – Tennessee Titans

Vertical juice travels. A true field-stretcher is the easiest way to make a young QB look better immediately.

Breece Hall – New York Jets

New York Jets running back Breece Hall (20) runs with the ball during an NFL Week 10 game between the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025.

Rebuild or not, you don’t let a home run back walk unless you enjoy punting on Sundays.

Tyler Linderbaum – New York Giants

Interior OL is the new luxury item (hello Chicago Bears). If you’re building a real offense, you start by buying clean snaps and clean pockets.

Rasheed Walker – Cleveland Browns

Left tackle competence is basically a controlled substance. Cleveland pays because Cleveland has to.

Jaelan Phillips – Philadelphia Eagles

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is sacked by Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jaelan Phillips (50) during the first half at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

Keep the front violent, keep the menu the same. Philly doesn’t do soft rebuilds; they do reloads.

Odafe Oweh – Los Angeles Chargers

Explosive edges don’t hit the market often – and when they do, teams mysteriously find room in the budget.

Braden Smith – Houston Texans

Houston’s whole offseason should be about protecting C.J. Stroud. If you’ve watched that OL tape, you already know why.
