The Rich Bisaccia era for the Green Bay Packers’ special teams reached its end this week following his decision to step down from his roles with the NFC North Division franchise.
“After taking some time to reflect over the last few weeks, I have made the decision to step down as the assistant head coach and special teams coordinator of the Green Bay Packers,” Bisaccia said in a statement (h/t Rob Demovsky of ESPN).
The 65-year-old Bisaccia had faced fierce criticism, particularly from the fans, mostly due to the blunders made and the letdown performances by the special teams. Just in the 2025 NFL playoffs, the Packers were doomed in large part because of kicker Brandon McManus’ missed field goals and a muffed extra-point attempt.
Nevertheless, some fans appreciate Bisaccia, simply for being a kind person.
Ex-Packers Bisaccia’s good deed during Green Bay tenure turns heads
In a story shared by Mitchell Widmeier of Zone Coverage after Bisaccia parted ways with Green Bay, one can get an idea of how great a person the former Packers coach is.
Rich Bisaccia is one of the most genuine humans I’ve ever met.
Every single week in-season the last two years he stopped to talk to my little sister even though she’s non-verbal. He never missed or skipped a single week.
Wish him well with whatever is next

It remains to be seen where Bisaccia, who was hired by the Packers in 2022, will land next. What’s certain is that he’s touched the hearts of at least a few Green fans during his time with the team.
Green Bay special teams coordinator Bisaccia is shown during the fourth quarter of their game Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. Green Bay beat the Chicago Bears 27-10.
