Liverpool face two trips to Wolves in four days after the date for their FA Cup fifth round showdown was confirmed.

The Reds will travel to the Premier League's bottom-placed team to battle for a place in the last eight on Friday, March 6, which kicks off at 8pm. The game will be shown live on TNT Sports.

Arne Slot's side were already due to face the Midlanders that week, with their Premier League clash at Molineux taking place on Tuesday, March 3 at 8.15pm, which will also be broadcast on TNT Sports.

The date for the FA Cup clash gives Liverpool extra time to prepare for their Champions League round of 16 tie, the first leg of which will take place the following Tuesday or Wednesday.

They were last in FA Cup action on a Friday in 2021 when they won 4-1 away at Aston Villa, who had to field a youth team due to coronavirus restrictions.

The Reds struggled to overcome Wolves at Anfield in December when they held on to a 2-1 win, having gone ahead in the first half through goals by Ryan Gravenberch and Florian Wirtz.

It's the fourth time in a decade Liverpool have been drawn against Wolves in the FA Cup. They won a third round clash after a replay in 2023, but lost at Molineux in 2019 and at home two years earlier.

In total, the teams have faced each other on eight separate occasions in the competition with Liverpool progressing only three times.
