Insider Reveals What Maxx Crosby Would Cost Patriots In A Potential Trade

The New England Patriots could be looking to improve their pass rush this offseason, and Maxx Crosby's name has been floated in trade rumors.

Crosby has publicly shut down the idea that he wants to be traded or that he has requested a trade. However, some insiders believe that behind closed doors, he does want out. He reportedly told Dianna Russini that he wants to play for Mike Vrabel. If that's true, what might it cost the Patriots to acquire him?

Well, the framework of a deal may already be in place thanks to the Dallas Cowboys trading Micah Parsons last season. ESPN's Adam Schefter revealed on 97.5 The Fanatic’s Kincade and Salciunas on Wednesday that it would take a similar package to Parsons to get a deal done.

“I was told that the Raiders don’t want to trade him and that if they even contemplated it, it would take a Micah Parsons-type package,” said Schefter. “That’s what I was told.”

Parsons was traded for Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks. However, Parsons is younger than Crosby and a better player overall. However, that's what the Raiders would be looking for to trade their star defender. The team likely sees him as a major part of their future.

Despite not being very good last season, the Raiders could have a quick turnaround. They have the No. 1 overall pick, a star running back in Ashton Jeanty and just hired Super Bowl-winning offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. Given the Raiders' reported asking price for Crosby, a trade may be unlikely unless he officially requests one.
