Liverpool FC have put up a new job vacancy on LinkedIn with Lead Data Scientist William Spearman also commenting on the role.
Liverpool have advertised a new data‑driven role as the club continues to expand the analytics operation that has underpinned so much of its recent success.
When Lead Data Scientist William Spearman was brought into the club’s research department, it signalled the continued aim at keeping Liverpool on the cutting edge of sports science and decision‑making.
The Reds have leaned heavily on advanced models in areas such as player recruitment, injury prevention and in‑game strategy, building a reputation as one of Europe’s smartest clubs off the pitch as well as one of the most entertaining on it. That focus is only intensifying as the club looks to maximise every marginal gain in an increasingly competitive landscape.
Liverpool have now opened applications for a new Data Engineer position within the research team.
According to the vacancy announcement shared on professional networks, the successful candidate will help drive the development of the club’s data platform, ensuring that information from multiple departments can be integrated, stored and accessed efficiently. They will also be expected to set architectural standards across data pipelines and warehouse infrastructure.
An advert on LinkedIn read posted by Football Talent Acquisition Partner for Liverpool Conor Quinn read:
