The 24-year-old was again absent at the weekend as the Clarets crashed out of the FA Cup at the hands of League One Mansfield Town, sparking further questions over his availability.

But speaking ahead of Saturday’s trip to Stamford Bridge, Parker has revealed Broja is not fit to feature.

“He won't make the weekend,” the Clarets boss confirmed.

“To be fair, he's picked up a little bit of an issue which has been ongoing for a few weeks now and we've had to intervene a little bit.

“He shouldn't be too long, hopefully a couple of weeks from now, but certainly this weekend he won't be available to play in that game.”

Elsewhere, the Clarets will also remain without Axel Tuanzebe, who is nursing an Achilles problem. The defender is still a couple of weeks away.

Parker also provided an update on some of Burnley’s longer-term absences in Connor Roberts, Mike Tresor and Zeki Amdouni.

“Connor is more long term,” he said. “I don't see him being available in the coming weeks/months really.

“Zeki, we’re beginning to integrate him a little bit with us, so he’s not too far away.

“I don't know how far away in terms of actually match ready, but he's definitely progressing in the right way and there's been no setback so touch wood, he's heading in the right direction.

“Mikey as well, he's probably a little bit closer on the grass and picking up his work now. He’s had some injections in the issue that he had in his ankle and that seems to have settled down. So again, I think it'll be a few weeks from now.”

Jordan Beyer is another that remains out injured, having not featured in a competitive match since December 2023.
