Arsenal vs Wolves Became a Laughing Stock in Premier League

Arsenal are top of the Premier League but they look scared. After throwing away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with bottom-placed Wolves, the fear of becoming a joke again is clear for everyone to see. The rivals are laughing and the players are showing it on the field specially in this match between Arsenal vs Wolves.

The Disaster at Molineux

On February 18, 2026, Arsenal travelled to Wolves and seemed to have an easy win. Bukayo Saka scored in the fifth minute with a header. After half-time, Piero Hincapié made it 2-0 with a strong shot. Arsenal were in total control. Then it all went wrong.

Hugo Bueno scored a lovely curling goal to make it 2-1. In the 94th minute, disaster struck. A simple cross came in, Gabriel and goalkeeper David Raya got their wires crossed, and young debutant Tom Edozie fired a shot that hit Riccardo Calafiori and went in.

Fear Shows in Every Mistake

We saw the fear on the pitch in Arsenal vs Wolves. Arsenal used to be rock-solid at the back that was their biggest strength. But against Wolves, the defence fell apart. The players looked nervous, made silly errors and lost their shape in the second half.

Gabriel argued with Raya after the equaliser. The team stopped pressing and looked tired and scared. They have now dropped points from winning positions in two games running. Experts say this is the same old problem – they play well when things are easy but freeze when the pressure is high.

Rivals Are Already Laughing

Wolves fans started singing “Second again, ole, ole” early in the game. They sang it louder and louder after the final whistle. It is the chant that hurts Arsenal the most. They have finished second for the last three seasons in a row. If it happens again this year, it will be their 10th second-place finish in the Premier League era. Rivals will never let them forget it.

Arteta Tells the Truth

Mikel Arteta was honest after the game. “I’m extremely disappointed,” he said. “We have to blame ourselves. In the second half we didn’t show anything close to the standards needed to win this league.”

He told his players to take the criticism and move on. “Any hit, any bullet, take it,” he added. Arteta knows the team must show strong character now. He wants them to look in the mirror and prove they have the fight to win the title. But even he looked worried on the touchline.

Not a good cameo at all from Gabriel Jesus last night. He wasted a big chance to seal the game late on. At full time, he lost his temper and clashed with Wolves’ Yerson Mosquera as Arsenal drew 2-2 after leading 2-0…

City Are Waiting to Pounce

Arsenal are still top with 58 points from 27 games. Manchester City are five points behind but have a game in hand. If City win that, the gap is only two points. Arsenal have won just two of their last seven league matches which is not champion form. However, Arsenal had the chance to go seven points clear but missed it. Now the title is slipping away again.

There is no time to feel sorry. Arsenal face Tottenham in the North London Derby on Sunday, February 22. Spurs fans will sing the “Second again” chant all game. It will be loud, angry and full of pressure. Arteta called it the perfect chance to show their true colours. A win can lift the team and send a message to City.

Fight or Face the Jokes

The next few weeks will decide everything in the Premier League. If Arsenal stand up and fight like Arteta asked, they can still be champions. If they keep crumbling, the jokes will never stop. The laughing stock tag is close but it is not too late to prove everyone wrong.
