SAN FRANCISCO — The Celtics have agreed to sign guard Dalano Banton to a 10-day contract, a league source confirmed Thursday.
Banton, 26, signed a two-year deal with the Celtics prior to the 2023-24 season and averaged 2.3 points and 1.5 rebounds over 24 games before being traded to the Trail Blazers in February 2024.
He played 67 games with the Blazers last season and signed a 10-day contract with the Clippers earlier this month. Now he will help bolster Boston’s backcourt depth after the team traded guard Anfernee Simons for center Nikola Vucevic.
The Celtics had three open roster spots after a flurry of trades prior to the Feb. 5 deadline and need to fill two by the end of Thursday in order to reach the league minimum of 14 players.
