Quarterbacks in the NFL don’t get much opportunity for personal time during the season. But Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff took advantage of the early offseason downtime to take a trip with his wife and infant this month.
SI Lifestyle’s Cara O’Bleness reported the Goff family visited Northern California during Super Bowl weekend. The big game occurred in Santa Clara at the home of the San Francisco 49ers on February 8.
Goff posted pictures of the trip on his Instagram account this week.
The “photo dump” included five pictures of the family’s newest addition — Goff’s daughter, Romy, who was born in July.
The Instagram post featured pictures from the Pro Bowl Games, which Goff attended in California, along with shots from the family’s visit to the quarterback’s alma maters.
Goff completed 68% of his passes for 4,564 yards with 37 touchdowns and 12 interceptions to earn his Pro Bowl bid during the 2025 season. He averaged 7.9 yards per pass while leading the Lions to a 9-8 record.

It was the perfect time for the Goff family to vacation. While it’s the NFL offseason, the quarterback and his wife, Christen, were both celebrating recent career achievements.
In addition to Goff making the 2026 Pro Bowl, Christen announced on February 5 she was one of the SI Swimsuit’s February 2026 digital cover models.
To celebrate, the family visited Goff’s old stomping ground. The quarterback wrote “415” as his only caption to his Instagram post, which is the California area code where they visited.
Goff played high school and college football in the area. The quarterback’s social media post included photos of the family visiting both Marin Catholic and the University of California, Berkeley.
O’Bleness referred to the family photos as the “sweetest.”
“We’re not the only ones who loved the sweet family moments, as several of Goff’s fans, friends and followers chimed into the comments section of his latest post, which also showcased Romy mid-smile as her dad held her on his shoulders,” wrote O’Bleness.
