Darius Acuff Gets Stamp of Approval From 4-Time NBA All-Star

Wednesday night's clash between the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Alabama Crimson Tide featured a spoiled outing for the star guard, Darius Acuff Jr.

Despite the double-overtime loss, Acuff was the talk of college basketball this week as he made the most of his 50-minute shift against ‘Bama.

The four-time NBA All-Star Trae Young took to social media to give Acuff his stamp of approval.

"Darius Acuff one of them next ones!" Young wrote on X. "Head up Killa!"

The young star shot 16-27 from the field, making six of his 10 shots from beyond the arc. He also added 11 points from the charity stripe, making all but one of his shots from the free-throw line.

Acuff scored 49 points. In addition to his scoring, he came down with five rebounds, snatched one steal, blocked one shot, and produced five assists on the offensive end.

More College Basketball:Arkansas Freshman Star Darius Acuff Jr. Continues Dominant SEC Run

Arkansas came up short in the end, losing 117-115. They dropped to 19-7 on the year, which ties Alabama with a 9-4 record in the SEC.

This season Acuff has 26 games under his belt. The freshman starter has hit on 50 percent of his shots from the field, and is knocking down threes at a 44 percent clip. He is averaging 22.3 points per game, along with 6.2 assists per game, which leads the entire SEC.

With March approaching, the assumption is that Acuff could be one-and-done in college hoops. If the Arkansas standout declares for next year's draft, Acuff is projected to land with a team within the lottery. Following a massive performance against Alabama, Acuff will have more eyes on him. More outings like that will surely shoot up his stock before the 2026 NBA Draft.
