Chelsea were right to take a gamble on Liam Rosenior. I think he is the man to bring the glory days back to Stamford Bridge at last. The stats are impressive, but it is his unique style which sets him apart in the Premier League.
Rosenior has won eight of his first 11 games in charge of the club, and has even been compared to Sir Alex Ferguson by Wayne Rooney in his early days at Stamford Bridge.
Rooney said he was a big fan of how the Chelsea boss was engaging with the players, and those high-profile individuals have not allowed their egos to get in the way of working with an inexperienced coach.
Are you convinced by Rosenior yet, Chelsea fans?
His start is almost as good as Jose's!
Liam Rosenior’s tactics are getting the best out of Enzo Fernandez
Enzo Fernandez is ‘very happy’ with Rosenior already, and the World Cup winner is one of those who has benefited most from some of the new tactics on display in West London.
He has contributed to six goals since the hiring, and this is no accident. Rosenior is actively looking to get more from Fernandez in the final third.

A player who only ever featured in central midfield under Enzo Maresca, the Argentine has started multiple games on the left wing recently, allowing for a closer link-up with Cole Palmer.

Winning the midfield battle has in fact been a key part of the Englishman’s mantra, and there is good reason for this given the quality of players he has at his disposal in that position.
Andrey Santos has been the underrated hero of Rosenior’s reign, and has started eight times under him. Maresca was simply not giving him these opportunities.
The Brazilian has often made up a three-man midfield, and an inverted full-back has seen a box-like four in the middle of the park that have dominated games on their own.
The Chelsea boss has not been afraid to take risks with his tactics, and change them based on the opposition. While the unique strategy of not starting any wingers against Arsenal ultimately didn’t work, Trevoh Chalobah confirmed the Chelsea players bought into the tactics.

Liam Rosenior’s winning mentality sums up modern Chelsea
In his first interview with the Chelsea website after joining the club, Rosenior made it clear that winning was his priority at Stamford Bridge.
He said: “It’s a lot of hard work in my life to get to this point, but as I’ve already said to the players, getting to this club is one thing, but I want to win at this amazing football club with these players and the staff. That is what my focus is on.
“Now I’m in a position where I want to be remembered as a winning coach, consistently winning – and that doesn’t come from just me. It’s the club. It’s the players. It’s the staff.”
Comparing this to the former manager is night and day. Maresca famously ruled Chelsea out of a title race despite them being within a point of the league leaders in December 2024.
Blues fans don’t want to hear excuses. They want to win, and they want to win now. Rosenior is promising that.
Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Antonio Conte all brought a winning mentality which has summed the club’s modern history up, and supporters get on board with those who win trophies.

Liam Rosenior embodies Jose Mourinho’s Mantra at Chelsea
Comparisons to Mourinho don’t stop there. When the Portuguese manager joined the club in 2004, he was instantly seen as a likeable, bold character by the English media. Rosenior has already achieved this during press conferences and interviews.
When a manager makes an enemy of the media, it is very difficult to get them back onside. Maresca struggled with this after a number of spiky moments in various press conferences.
The boss has been judged on social media since the minute he came in, whether that be because of his poor first touch on the sidelines at Arsenal, or the way he dresses and conducts himself.
While opposition fans have labelled him a school teacher, the Chelsea squad have a lot of respect for the man in charge, and are ultimately the ones tasked with delivering results on the pitch.
The evidence is clear that Rosenior is the man to bring the glory days back to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea fans are starting to see it, and soon the rest of the Premier League will follow suit.
