And Joe has noticed a trend the past two days, from multiple BSPN roundtable shows to insider chats on CBS Sports HQ to SiriusXM NFL Radio and beyond; the national media is having a fun time selling Mike Evans moving on from the Bucs and signing with the Bills. Joe also heard plenty when sampling Buffalo sports radio.

The thought of this is almost ridiculous.

So Evans is going to want to move on to a team with no quality wide receivers, where he’ll be double-teamed relentlessy? Why would he want that?

Also, in addition to Evans being a warm-weather guy from South Texas, the new Buffalo stadium opening this year is not a dome, and it will have natural grass with a unique underground heat and irrigation system. That screams of a looming turf disaster come late fall. And you don’t have to be a medical expert to know cold is hardly ideal for a guy like Evans with shaky hamstrings.

The Bills also have a new head coach, which means the team is free to report back to work early on April 6, per NFL rules. That’s a quick turnaround for Evans, who likely wouldn’t want to pull a Haason Reddick and turn his nose up on his new team and skip spring workouts.

Joe cannot find a bunch of reasons why Evans would see a better NFL life with the Bills, especially if he only wants to play one more year.

Still, Joe expects the national types to keep screaming about an Evans-Bills marriage. And the Chiefs chatter will continue, too, even if Patrick Mahomes is only two months removed from knee reconstruction surgery.
