Cam Newton has always been outspoken, but he’s become even more vocal since leaving the NFL. The former Panthers quarterback and 2015 MVP played 11 seasons before retiring in 2022.
Since then, he has stayed in the news for his commentary as much as he once did for his play. However, his recent remarks might be his most damaging yet. And it is worth noting that he failed to sell his idea about women to the football community.
Cam Newton says women lose value with every kid
Newton, 36, is currently the father of nine children, whom he raises as his own, including seven biological children and two from his partners’ previous relationships. He shares these children with three women. For now, he is in a committed relationship with comedian Jasmin Brown.

During a guest appearance on the “It’s Giving” podcast with host Sarah Fontenot, Newton was pressed with a blunt question: whether he believes a woman’s value decreases when she has multiple children by multiple men. His response landed like a bad snap.
“The reality of that answer is women’s value gets lower the more children that they have,” Newtonsaid.

He then shared a personal story about one of his children’s mothers. He told her that any man she dates must be ready to love all five of her kids, and added that he was sure she wouldn’t find anyone better than him.
“I don’t think most women do better than the father of their children,” he said. “That’s just my confidence. I don’t even think it’s confidence.”
The irony? Newton has children with three different partners. He also had a son, Caesar, while still in a relationship with Kia Proctor, an affair that ended their partnership.

Later, Newton called his actions “embarrassing” and said he hurt Proctor and put his family at risk. Many on social media think another apology video is coming soon after his recent remarks about women.
Fans react to Cam Newton’s wild women talk
Newton’s remarks were the talk of the timeline almost instantly, with fans putting his personal record on trial right alongside his words.
One fannoted, “The irony is loud. How can you contribute to the number of children a woman has and then claim it lowers her value? It feels like a double standard.”
Another onepenned, “Well if men are supposed to be providers, and u got 9 child support payments. Looks like he’s losing value every time them checks go out.”
“Prolly should sit this one out,” one userposted.
Another simplycalledhim “Scam Newton, the master hypocrite.”
A sixth viewerexplained, “Maybe we should focus on being ‘Super Dad’ and leave the ‘value of women’ commentary to someone with a more consistent track record.”
A random X user claimed, “Indirectly saying his 3 baby mamas lacked experience in bed.”
Now it remains to be seen whether Newton makes an apology video or not.
