Antonio Brown’s NFL career ended as chaotically as it began. Selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft, Brown quickly became a dominant Pro Bowler before demanding a trade ahead of the 2019 season.
After stints with the Raiders, Patriots, and Buccaneers, his time in the league ended infamously in January 2022 when he stripped off his uniform mid-game at MetLife Stadium and walked off the field during a Buccaneers-Jets game. He hasn’t played professional football since.
Brown is currently facing a second-degree attempted murder charge in Florida stemming from a shooting at a celebrity boxing event in May 2025. He would face a potential sentence of up to 30 years if convicted.

And his bank balance is negative right now. In May 2024, Brown filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, reporting millions in liabilities against minimal assets. However, his lifestyle doesn’t match his legal filings, and his very recent actions made things crystal clear.

Against all those backdrops, Brown drew fresh attention this week, but in the wrong way. The former All-Pro wide receiver posted a video showing off a $100,000 diamond grill and chain while his bankruptcy case moves through liquidation in Florida federal court.

Creditors are still waiting to be paid, including a moving truck driver owed $1.2 million. A court-appointed trustee is overseeing the case and has moved to sell Brown’s $4.5 million property in Odessa.
Brown has, for now, protected his $9 million primary home. A judge has warned that failing to report income and assets could jeopardize the case fully.

He even once faced a claim from a South Florida plumber over $296, yet is now sending six figures in diamonds to brighten his teeth while reporting less than $50,000 in assets. Many fans criticized the optics.
Fans didn’t miss the contradiction
The internet didn’t wait for a merciless response.
“Now he doesn’t need to brush every day,” one fanwrote.
Anotheradded, “Filing bankruptcy for $3 million then buying $100K grillz is exactly why he went broke in the first place. Zero financial sense whatsoever.”
A thirdpenned, “AB filing for bankruptcy and then dropping $100K on grillz is the most on-brand thing I’ve ever seen. The creditors are probably watching this video with a lawyer on speed dial right now.”
Another userclaimed, “Bro doesn’t have money but yet bro keeps spending. Never to be caught unfresh.”
A random X userjoked, “I believe at this point, Antonio Brown is playing 4D chess while the rest of us are playing checkers.”

To be frank, Brown’s case remains one of the stranger financial implosions for a player who earned eight figures during his playing career and this $100K grillz just added another chapter.
