Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love ranked as #37 on PFF list of 101 best NFL players

The Green Bay Packers may not have accomplished their ultimate goal of winning the Super Bowl this year, but there were plenty of positive takeaways from the season as a whole. Indeed, they also fell short of winning the NFC North and lost five straight games (including playoffs) to end the year, but the good news is that quarterback Jordan Love established himself further as one of the premier players in the NFL.

When the Packers first selected Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, it was an immensely unpopular pick due to the presence of Aaron Rodgers on the roster. And when Rodgers went on to win the next two NFL MVP Awards following the pick, well, many questioned further if Green Bay had a mistake.

Love took over as the starter in 2023 when Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets. Admittedly, there were bumps in the road and some learning moments, but the bright moments far outweighed the negatives, which became few and far between the more he played.

PFF recently released its list of the top 101 players in the NFL. So far (they have released 101-21), Love and safety Xavier McKinney (#66) are the only two Green Bay players on the list.

On Love, PFF writes:

“Love made a definitive leap during the Packers’ 2025 campaign, helping the team look the part of a Super Bowl contender before injury. His 88.7 PFF passing grade ranked second among qualified passers, and his 5.9% big-time throw rate also trailed onlyMatthew Stafford. Love diminished his turnover-worthy play rate from 3.2% to 2.6%, entering rarefied air this season.”

Love finished the 2025 season with a career-best 66.3% completion percentage to go with 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, six interceptions, and an impressive 101.2 passer rating.

To be sure, those numbers would have looked even better had he not been forced to miss a couple of games. Love missed one week with a concussion, and then was held out of the final regular season game as head coach Matt LaFleur rested as many regular starters as he could in preparation for the postseason.

It will be interesting to see, too, how Love performs in 2026 when he will presumably have all of his offensive weapons healthy, a luxury he did not have at any point in the 2025 NFL season.
