Earlier this week, Sport Witness took a look at Inter Milan’s stance over Arsenal’s interest in Francesco Pio Esposito.
L’Interista were sure that the Italian giants weren’t bothered about this, with Inter confident that the player will not leave.
There was a suggestion that the two parties have an unbreakable bond, with Pio Esposito grateful to the Nerazzurri for his development. He appears keen on paying all of that back to his club.
More details are now emerging about Arsenal’s interest in the striker. It seems like the Gunners are pretty serious and also scouted him some days ago.
Arsenal scouts watched Esposito on Saturday
TuttoSport – relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, report that a Gunners official was present at the San Siro on Saturday. Inter beat Juventus 3-2 in a controversial tie but it saw Pio Esposito score a lunging header in the second half.
The goal helped the striker take his tally to six in all competitions, having assisted as many times too.
The newspaper believe that Pio Esposito passed Arsenal’s test with flying colours. The London club have been left impressed in general too, with Andrea Berta having followed the talent for years now.
As a result, Arsenal’s interest is said to be growing. Their task is unlikely to be easy, with Inter preparing an offensive of their own.
Inter preparing new contract
TuttoSport futher report about the Nerazzurri’s approach towards a renewal for Pio Esposito.
Club CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Auslio are already laying down the foundation for that. The Italian currently earns only €1.1m and he could earn around €3m per season in his new deal.
Inter’s aim is to tie Pio Esposito down until 2031. This is seen as Inter’s move to deny Arsenal from signing the talent. The player is seen as the future of the Serie A league leaders, having filled in reliably when Marcus Thuram has misfired this season.
There are indications that Pio Esposito is also keen on staying, which can make things more difficult for the Gunners.
