Luka Doncic, Lakers get great Yves Missi trade news

The Los Angeles Lakers must make changes to their frontcourt in the offseason.

If Los Angeles keeps their lackluster low-post unit as is, they could find themselves in trouble moving forward. Luckily for the Luka Doncic-led Lakers, they recently received great news on a potential offseason trade for New Orleans Pelicans center Yves Missi.

“One team I’d like to mention that we reported over the last year had interest in Yves Missi is the Los Angeles Lakers,” ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel said on his ClutchScoops’ show Thursday. “They’re going to be in the market looking for a center, and maybe they could get Missi at a cheap price for a first-round pick.”

While Missi’s production is down from a season ago, there’s a reason why he’s gauged the Lakers’ interest lately. Missi is a high-motor 6-foot-11 center who contributes on both ends of the floor thanks to his length, versatility, and natural motivation.

Missi, a former first-round pick and second-team All-Rookie big man, is contributing 5.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game, shooting 53.8% from the field in 47 contests.

The Baylor product averaged 9.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per contest as a first-year pro, connecting on 54.7% of his field goals in 67 games.

The Lakers should be prepared to monitor Missi’s situation in New Orleans this summer.
